How did Lulu’s get its name?
Lulu’s name comes from two nicknames - “Lulu” and “Little Lulu” - that Bake Shoppe founder, Sandy Russo, had for her daughter, Sydney, when she was very young. [Sydney is now the ripe old age of five!]  When Sandy was considering what to name the bakery, she thought of how Sydney (a.k.a. “Lulu”) loved to eat cupcakes (and especially the frosting!). And voila, that was it: she named it Lulu’s Bake Shoppe.

What should I do with my Lulu's cupcakes if I'm not going to eat them right away?
It is best to eat Lulu's cupcakes on the day you purchase them. However you can do a couple of things to help extend their freshness. First you need to distinguish between the types of cupcakes.

Carrot cake and Boston Cream Pie cupcakes should be stored in the refrigerator; take them out of the fridge about an hour before serving for them to taste their best.

Do not store any other Lulu's cupcakes in the refrigerator because this will cause the cupcakes to dry out. Instead, wrap the Lulu's box they came in with plastic wrap as soon as possible. If you know ahead of time, just ask us when you pick up your cupcakes and we'll be happy to wrap them in plastic before you leave the shoppe. You could also place the cupcakes in an airtight container in place of plastic wrap. Remember to keep the cupcakes at room temperature and do not put them in the refrigerator.

Does Lulu’s Bake Shoppe offer franchises?
Lulu's Bake Shoppe does not offer franchises. Our Hanover Street store is our only store. Our goal is to provide the best possible homemade products that we can every day of the week. We think that opening up more stores and/or franchising will take away from this focus and mission.
